My name is Katrina Bui and I am a 23-year-old who loves to take photos of anything that catches my eyes.
Photography was a hobby at first until I found out it can be a job.
From my first camera a Nikon it felt like a dream come true that I could own something to take my photos rather than on a cell phone device.
My Story
As a 23-year-old, life as a child was hard. As a young child growing up being bullied and afraid to be me I hid behind an invisible mask. Being a victim of bullying was hard to tell someone thinking it would make it worst. Having suicidal thoughts but never committed because of the hardship my family would go through if I did. The anxiety I had of people staring at me and talking behind my back was uneasy and still is today.
As I got to middle school it was still difficult but what brought me out to not be afraid as much was being hidden by a camera and capturing other lives. Even though it was hard to walk up to people to ask for their photos it did not stop me from capturing the happiness they have at the moment. As life continue high school year was the same, but this time I slowly came out of the shadow and tried to see life in front of the camera. Being part of the yearbook community was the time I met amazing people who help me bring brightness to life and to capture the happiness of others and myself from behind the camera and sometimes in front.
This page is all about bringing happiness to the camera, but sometimes the hardship.
As I move down in life not only am I capturing from still images but even through videography.
